About
Us
Social
Care World is the innovative and pioneering organisation
with exclusive plans of support for Social Care and Palliative
Care provisions in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and the south-east
Asia region (SEAR).
SCW is
the first ever UK international that is exclusively focusing
on the development and promotion of the infrastructures of
Social Care and Palliative Care.
SCW
is a catalyst of social change!
The Innovative Organisation.
We are working hard in order to help remove the responsibilities
and the entire burden of social care of the old, the young
and the disabled from rural families and individuals. The
location of these responsibilities is in their own homes rather
than in residential or institutional accommodations.
The Pioneering Organisation.
We cherish commitment to promoting the fight against poverty
completely caused by ‘family burden’ of social
- the inability of family members to engage and concentrate
more of their own resources on more economic activities.
We will do our best to provide
financial and material support to rural people who are in
their own homes practicing palliative care of the family member
with HIV/AIDS, other chronic diseases or life-threatening
illnesses. We will support hospices or home-based palliative
care facilities.
We are committed to finding
social measures to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. We will
support existing measures to mitigate their impact on rural
families and individuals.
We partner the following
regional and international organisations in the war on HIV/AIDS,
other chronic diseases or life-threatening illnesses:
- European Association of
Palliative Care (EAPC) -
www.eapcnet.org
- Foundation for Hospices
in sub-Saharan Africa (FHSSA)
- International
Association for Hospice & Palliative Care (IAHPC)
Lack of resources
is a significant challenge for hospices in the developing
countries. With each and every one of these organisations,
we will work to achieve our goal. To achieve our goal, we
rely heavily on your hearten
support.
We will do our best to encourage the authorities, and with
them, to promote palliative care of the diseases and illnesses
In addition,
we will support the rural people, individually, because they
are participating in the prevention efforts, and with compassion,
they are relieving suffering.
We believe
that:
‘Family burden’ of social care is a great poverty
trap!
‘Family burden’ of social care is the greatest
source of under-development!
Social Care World is pioneering
the work to lessen the height of this single influence that
is restraining the social and economic development of the
rural people of Africa south of the Sahara and SEAR.
Key
Activities of the SCW Organisation:
In the SCW Organisation
we believe that in these present times when the international
humanitarian community (and Donor Countries) are focusing
on confronting poverty in Africa; that will also involve skills
and technology transfers. We believe the most appropriate
agenda, therefore the most appropriate slogan, should be
‘Make social care Poverty History’
as the burden of social care and palliative care remains in
the family, it is the root of under-development and persisting
poverty.
We will provide
financial assistance with on-site practical assistance and
management support and advice to rural organisations providing
social care for their community members who are disadvantaged
because of age or disability. These caring activities should
be extended to refugees in camp-care or in hostels.
Recruiting, providing training and registration
of *Change Advisors for on-site practical advice, assistance
and support of careworkers and members of their management
team in SSA and SEAR.
Relieving hardship of the disadvantaged
by making grants of money to help to afford modern facilities
and materials in social and palliative care settings.
Enhancing lives and preserving public order
by encouraging individuals and rural organisations to develop
more and more information centre and social education centre,
and outreach social care services in their rural communities.
The care, upbringing and sustainable life
skills for orphans and unaccompanied children and young people
by making grants of money for personal support or for equipment
as required in the orphanage. We will support their careworkers
with training in modern skills.
Encouraging the elimination of all
forms of discrimination, segregation or stigmatization by
making grants of money to afford equality of access to social
and palliative care facilities.
